Fresh Tangerine hosted it's very first workshop in our studio and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you! We teamed up with Crystal of The Fancy Cat Studio to teach a Beginner's Calligraphy Workshop on Saturday, March 14th. The workshop lasted 3 hours and was open to anyone with a passion to learn something creative!
Thanks to our generous sponsors, we were able to transform the studio into a beautiful classroom for 12 eager students!
We had the most amazing group of strong, creative, and amazing women at the workshop. It was so much fun getting the opportunity to get to know each of the students and find out a little bit about who they are! The amazing flower bouquets were generously donated by Umlaut and Ampersand.
Each of the students received their very own set of supplies to get their new hobby started. Such Sweet Tierney created custom bags for each of the students made out of screen printed fabric that they teach workshops for!
We had quite the spread of snacks and sips for the workshop provided by Top Pot Doughnuts and Simple & Crisp! The lovely pink lids on the mason jars were provided by iLids and gold striped straws by We Love Citrus.
Crystal did such a great job teaching the course and making all of the signage for the event!
Practice makes perfect! This workshop covered the basics of calligraphy and how to write the lower case alphabet.
Now- a peak into the swag bags that were graciously donated by our sponsors!
Custom pen bags by Such Sweet Tierney. London, the owner and designer, created these bags to fit the Oblique Pen nib with fabric that she screen printed herself right here in Pioneer Square!
Thanks to the team at Haven Magazine for Volume One of their lifestyle magazine. We've been pouring over the images and words in this magazine and can't wait for the next issue to come out!
Simple and Crisp is locally made right here in Seattle! These delicious artisanal dried fruit crackers are great for your next party. Pair with cheese and wine or as a gorgeous cocktail garnish. Thank you Simple and Crisp for the lovely cheese + fruit platter! Studio favorites were definitely the Blood Orange and Dried Pear crisps!
Now here's one of the greatest cards you can send. Squirrelly Minds watercolored each of these gemstones and the back of the card includes information about the stone!
The little pink drink lid is by iLids. They offer lids for mason jars of all sizes, colors, and are great for the environment! If you are in need of cute packaging or decorating supplies, you should head over to We Love Citrus! They provided us the perfect little decorations that helped to tie together the pink + white + gold theme for our workshop! Frans Chocolates, our local chocolatier located in Georgetown, is known for their Salted Caramels! Frans has adorable packaging along with addictive, fine chocolates. If you want kissable and smooth lips - you should check out Essential Apothecary Alchemist. All of their products are natural and organic with gorgeous branding. Each student received a lip moisturizer called Kiss that has rose geranium and peppermint essential oils in them!
Our favorite student at the workshop, Larry.
Group photo with all of our lovely students, the Fresh Tangerine Team, and Crystal of The Fancy Cat Studio! Thank you to all of our participants! We can't wait to see you back at the studio for future workshops + events held at the Fresh Tangerine Studio in Pioneer Square.
Big thanks to Kelsey Kogane for all of the lovely photos!
And there you have it! Our first, but definitely not the last Calligraphy Workshop we will be holding in our studio.
OVER AND OUT!
