Staci is a Seattle babe that transplanted to LA. As a mother to one adorable grey kitten, traveler, nature lover, and architecture appreciator. Staci takes the time to reflect and live intentionally through small squares on Instagram. She lives her life simply, but intentionally, taking pride in every detail and appreciating the little moments life has to offer.
Starting a collection of stacking rings can intimidate many at first, and it may be hard to know where to begin! It is overwhelming with midi and regular ring sizes, different textures, styles and metals that you have to mix. That's why we teamed up with Staci to see how she styles a mix of our stacking rings. What is your zodiac sign? Taurus
What are you currently listening to? I've been really into the new Coldplay record. Coldplay has always been a favorite of mine throughout the years and I feel like they've evolved musically in parallel ways I've evolved in life. The current album is very multifaceted and I love that the material is a nice combination of fun, poppy grooves and poignant slow jams.
Where do you currently live and what brought you there? Los Angeles. My husband and I recently relocated down here because we both wanted to pursue our dreams before babies come into the picture, and now seemed to be the best time to do so! We are loving it.
How has this place influenced your personal style? That is a loaded question, ha! I'm from Seattle, so the fashion vibes couldn't be more different here in LA. Seattle is all about flannels, beanies, little to no makeup, hiking boots, layers upon layers, etc. Here in LA, edge is the name of the game. Studded, distressed, black leather, pumps, flawless makeup, etc. It's been interesting trying to reconcile between these two very different fashion worlds. I don't think it's impossible by any means, but I've definitely felt like I need to reinvent the way I choose to style myself living in LA. The city hasn't remolded or reshaped me in a holistic sense, but it's definitely challenged me creatively speaking to think beyond my go-to choices and think in terms of a little more "polished streetwear". If that makes sense.
What do you do? Describe a typical day for you. I am a freelance social media contractor, which means I manage social media channels for brands and often participate in a significant amount of content creation for those channels. A typical day for me looks like waking up with my husband and our kitten, making breakfast and coffee, checking emails and catching up on news before working out, showering and getting ready for the day. Since each client I work with has unique needs, beyond that my day could look as boring as working on the computer all day using Pinterest for inspiration or as exciting as meeting up with a model, makeup artist and stylist to work on shooting content for a brand. Every day is different, but after years of working a 9-5, it feels so freeing to work for myself! The hardest part is staying disciplined. I mean, my cat is pretty distracting with all her cuteness. ;)
How would you describe your personal style? Timeless and effortless. I don't like to think too hard when I get dressed, but I always want to look pulled together. As I approach age 30, I'm trying to do a better job of building a wardrobe I can see myself wearing for years to come, so my shopping habits have certainly become much more thoughtful. I've made my wardrobe very versatile and wearable over the last few years by buying neutrals and only purchasing items if I can imagine at least three outfits I can make with it. If I see something I like and say to myself, "I won't love this in five years!", I won't buy it. It's that simple. It's a challenge, but it's worth it to me. I do follow and appreciate trends, but I try to recreate them myself with pieces I already have that aren't particularly trendy in and of themselves.
Which sites do you go to for digital + fashion inspiration? I do really love Pinterest for outfit ideas if I'm looking for something specific, but for general inspiration I love Kate Arends, Bethany Staudacher and Emily Schuman. All three ladies are lovely and real with different and beautiful aesthetics.
Whose closet would you most like to raid? Alexa Chung. For sure. I swear that girl never ages and is a style icon worldwide. She is an example of all the best on-point fashion sense from the world's most fashion-forward cities all wrapped in one person. It's infuriatingly unfair, but I want to be her best friend.
What advice do you have for someone who has never stacked their rings before? As a former accessories over-doer, I'd say that less is always more. Don't be afraid to stack multiple delicate rings on both your hands, but keep the rest of the accessories to a minimum. You'll make more of a statement if the rest of your jewelry is barely there or not at all.
Let us in on any laws or tips you live by for stacking your rings. I live by the law of freedom when stacking my rings. Whatever feels fun that day works for me! Sometimes I'll wear four rings on one finger or one ring on four fingers. It's about fluidly creating a new look each day with my rings but not being afraid of trying something different.
